Clint Eastwood - Check 39/Version 7" (1978, Live And Love LAL17)

The late 70's was a great time for reggae. I bought this single back in 1978, and played it to death on a succession of crappy record players, often with a two pence piece blu-tacked to the top of the arm to stop punch of the bassline from knocking the needle out of the groove.

When I think about the abuse some of my records have been through, it's a wonder they play at all. However, this delicious slice of reggae, produced by Bunny Lee, has survived well. Apparently, it's a version of Caroline from his album Step It In A Zion. You can download both sides here.
